EXPOCENTRE and AIM Congress discussed prospects for cooperation in the field of trade shows
On 27 November, EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds hosted a meeting between Alexey Vyalkin, Director General at EXPOCENTRE AO, and Walid Farghal, Director General at AIM Congress, an investment congress in the UAE, to discuss the prospects for cooperation in the area of holding the conferences and trade shows.
The Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) Congress is an annual event held in Abu Dhabi (UAE) on the initiative of the AIM Global Foundation. In 2023, the Congress attracted more than 10,000 participants from 175 countries. Priority areas include foreign direct investment, SME development, development of cities of the future, and stimulation of startups and innovative projects.

During the meeting, Alexey Vyalkin said that more than 100 international trade shows are held annually at EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds, which are attended by more than one million specialists from 30,000 companies from more than 100 countries. This makes it possible to provide businesses, including those in the regions, with potential partners, customers and investors. Most of EXPOCENTRE’s projects are UFI (Global Association of the Exhibition Industry) approved events, which testifies to the highest level of their organisation.
Walid Farghal informed about the opportunities for cooperation in terms of international interaction. He emphasised that during the annual AIM Congress held in Abu Dhabi, participating countries have the opportunity to present their investment opportunities and economic conditions, investment projects and investment potential of the regions. In this part, the Congress covers many countries of the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.
During the dialogue, the parties outlined a route for further cooperation in terms of conventions and trade shows both in Russia and abroad.
The meeting was attended by Dmitry Kurochkin, Vice-President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Olga Kolomeitseva, AIM Global’s business manager for cooperation with Russia.
