Trends and development prospects on Prodexpo-2021

From April 12 to 16, MILK Packaging Factory took part in Prodexpo - a major international show of food and drinks in Russia and Eastern Europe.

At the regional stand were presented samples of products, that the company produce for major customers.

The head of the food department Oleg Gromov told about current trends for getting more complete impression of the exhibition.

Which kind of packaging have the visitors focused on?

As we thought, the main points of attraction became PET-platinka and our new product – lids with SMART-embossing. It is necessary to stand out the brand from the many others in crowded market. Exactly the packaging can help to decide this problem.

Why did these types attract attention?

PET-lids are suitable for use in a microwave oven and for freezing food. In addition, same packaging is extremely puncture and tear resistant strong and clearly stands out among the usual lids.

SMART-embossing is the best alternative to unembossed die-cut lids. Embossing applied only along the contour of the packaging, leaving most of cover unchanged. So, it is still premium-quality lid, but the cost is lower by 5%. This is very topical because of Russian track&trace regulations for dairy market.

The trends of the Russian market are clear, but what about the foreign one? We would like to know about results of communication with potential clients from other countries. Comments Nikolay Melnikov, head of the export direction.

Have you had any perspective negotiations?

We have held a new stage of negotiations with potential clients from the Czech Republic and Serbia. They highly appreciated the quality of our products. It is very important for them that our products made in accordance with the BRC and ISO requirements. It is guaranteed the quality and safety of packaging.

Did they stand out something?

Yes, they are interested with a project that we have already successfully implemented for one of our largest clients. We are talking about putting a promo code on the back side of lids. The main difficulty in its implementation is the fact of contact with the product. Now the promo code is applied by a special paint composition that is safe for the person, and the probability of its getting into product is now excluded.
