The pro capita consumption of food rose by almost 12 percent in Russia in 2011 and will continue to rise by an average of around 11 percent each year up to 2015. Save Food, an initiative of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation and Messe Düsseldorf, will be presented at UPAKOVKA/UPAK ITALIA for the first time. The purpose of SAVE FOOD is to minimise the global loss of foodstuffs. The initiative brings interests from commerce, politics and research together in order to develop solutions across the whole of the value chain.
