The Transmodule has perfected picker lines

At this year’s PackExpo exhibition, (Lakeside Upper Hall, Stand 7937) Gerhard Schubert GmbH will give visitors the opportunity to view a picker line for chocolate bears.

The line will run in non-stop operation and features Schubert Transmodules as transport elements. Transmodules are intelligent vehicles which are driven by a servomotor and carry out numerous transport tasks. These vehicles have been integrated in packaging machines with great success since September 2008.

Initially the Transmodules were supplied with point-to-point control which was suitable for intermittent operation. In the meantime, Transmodules are driven with continuous-line control and capable of continuous operation or for a combination of intermittent and continuous movement. Due to this feature, they particularly lend themselves to utilisation as a transport system for picker lines.

"You simply must experience it because the Transmodule will change the world of packaging machines in the years to come,” says Gerhard Schubert confidently. "Thanks to the Transmodule, the flexibility of the packaging machines has increased to a degree that one cannot imagine a packaging machine now without them.” With the Transmodule, redundancy also becomes a part of packaging machines and will make the machines significantly simpler and more straightforward in the future.

According to Schubert, flexibility results when simple mechanical systems, intelligent control systems and interchangeable tools are used. The Transmodule is the first transport robot worldwide and was developed based on this criteria. The interchangeable tool is a transport plate which is designed based on the specific product and packaging requirements.

On a projection screen spanning three metres, Gerhard Schubert GmbH will be providing information about the rest of its packaging machine range, which primarily consists of highly-flexible top-loading machines and high-tech picker lines. The team at Gerhard Schubert GmbH is looking forward to welcoming trade fair visitors to their booth.
