Results of the press conference held at the Russian Inform Agency "Novosti" (Moscow)

On June 7 the press conference “Packaging industry today: achievement, innovation and development path at Rosupak-2011 exhibition” was held at RIA Novosti press center.

The press conference was attended by:

• Mikhail Basheleishvili, General Director of MVK International Exhibition Company, The part ofthe ITE group;
• Natalia Konovalova, Director of ROSUPAK exhibition;
• Alexander Boyko, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Packaging Industry Development of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Executive Director of the National Packaging Confederation (NKPack);
• Alexander Puzikov, President of the PAKMASH Association, Commercial Director of Bestrom;
• Gregory Khmelevsky, Executive Director of the PAKMASH Association.

Over 700 Russian and foreign companies from 30 countries will present packaging machinery and technology, food and processing equipment, equipment package manufacturing and design, containers and finished packages for all kinds of industries.

“For the first time “Rosupak-2011” foreign exhibitors from Finland will hold a collective exposition, noted Natalia Konovalova. The number of Italian participants increased almost twice. The total number of participating companies increased by 10%. This is good news: the interest of foreign manufacturers and suppliers to the Russian market is constantly increasing. We expect about 16,000 targeted visitors”.

According to the General Director of MVK International Exhibition Company, Mikhail Basheleishvili, this year has significantly improved not only in terms of the number, but also in terms of the quality of visitors (according to surveys of participants to the exhibitions held in 2011). "First of all this improvement is due to the fact that MVK International Exhibition Company joined the group of companies ITE. Everyone knows the high standards of the largest exhibition company ITE. We apply modern approaches to attract visitors, including Internet-based technologies that help to reduce the number of "random people" at the exhibition. In addition, we have a wide network of sales offices around the world that will help to attract additional foreign exhibitors - said Mikhail Basheleishvili.

The chairman of the Subcommittee on Packaging Industry Development of the RF CCI, Executive Director of the National Confederation of Packagers (NCPack) Alexander Boyko estimated the turnover of the Russian packaging market: "Today the packaging market reached high figures; the turnover of the Russian packaging market makes up about 16 billion USD. The exhibition not only displays the scope of the market, but also stimulates its development, - said Alexander Boyko. - According to the World Packaging Organization the Russian packaging market reached firmly the "top ten" world's largest markets."
