Grand opening of Cermex manufacturing plant in China

On July 15th, Cermex officially opened a new plant in Beijing to manufacture its end of line machinery for the Chinese market.

The Chinese market for packing lines is set to become one of the world’s most dynamic markets but also one of the most competitive. To meet manufacturers’ growing demands for equipment in this sector, Cermex decided to establish a local presence in China in the form of an assembly facility, its first outside Europe. It will produce the main machines within the Cermex range, in particular shrink-wrappers, case packers and palletizers, to the same standard as those produced in France.

“Our objective,” explains Cermex’s President, Jean-Felix Lesueur, “is to become a key actor in the end of line market. This plant will enable us to significantly boost our competitiveness by eliminating customs duties and intercontinental shipping costs. We will also be able to offer faster delivery times as well as local commercial and technical assistance to our Chinese customers.”

This new stage in Cermex’s expansion in China is part of the company’s strategy to increase proximity to its customers in order to better understand and respond to their requirements. It also reflects Cermex’s long-term commitment to serving its Asian customers.

This manufacturing plant is located in Beijing’s Economic-Technological Development Area. It will adopt the same manufacturing processes and working methods to achieve the same level of excellence as Cermex’s other manufacturing plants.

For the opening ceremony, Cermex invited its customers, suppliers and partners to visit the facilities.
