DWI aluminium Fusion bottle creates giant impact at Brau Beviale 2007
After several years in development, Rexam launched the FUSION aluminium bottle to substantial interest at Brau Beviale 2007.
FUSION represents a new benchmark in beverage packaging technology. It brilliantly combines aluminium and conventional can manufacture to produce a family of DWI (Drawn Wall Ironed) bottles that can vary in serving size, shoulder shape, neck length and closing options.
The 2.8 m replica of the FUSION bottle was the highlight of Rexams stand and drew in customers who were excited by its innovativeness. FUSIONs manufacturing technology not only produces substantially lighter bottles, compared to an equivalent extruded metal or glass bottle, but can also utilise the full spectrum of Rexam ink and varnish finishes, including debossing.
Tomas Sjölin (pictured), Sector Director for Rexam Beverage Can Europe and Asia , commented:
This dynamic innovation builds on Rexams commitment to consistently present the market with new beverage packaging opportunities that enable brand owners to add value through the premiumisation and differentiation of their brands.
FUSION production will commence in February 2008 at Rexams UK research and development centre in Milton Keynes.
